Music #1: The first track for Luni

I've returned to composing a little for Luni. The first track draws inspiration from Orin's story, his friendship with Luni, and their journey between worlds and dimensions.

Music #1: The first track for Luni

Recently, I've been spending more time in Unity and C#: maps, game systems, combat, economy, crafting, and all the details that are slowly starting to bring everything together. Music is also an important part of the game, and over the last few days I've returned to composing and started working on the first track for Luni.
I'm working on a piece inspired by Orin's story, in which he meets Luni, a Willo, an unusual form of life who becomes his friend and companion. Without going into too much detail for now, this is one of the main ideas I started from when composing the piece.
I'm thinking of calling the piece Ami, from the French word for “friend”. For now, I like how well it fits the idea behind the piece, but we'll see...

The first track for Luni

I used two harps and a celesta. I liked the combination because the harps give the music a fluid and intimate feeling, while the celesta adds a delicate, crystalline timbre that leans slightly toward the unreal.

I think it fits very well with the universe I'm trying to build in Luni. Orin and Luni will travel between different worlds and dimensions, and the astral plane will also play an important role in the story. For Orin, the astral plane is also an inner dimension, a space connected to his own journey and to the way he gradually comes to understand the world around him. Along the way, the two will discover dimensions close to the game's main world, but also places where familiar rules begin to change. The elements, the universe, time, and the connections between different dimensions will be central themes in the game's lore. Alongside them are the mystical side of the world, deities, sources of knowledge, the exploration of a forgotten continent, and the gradual discovery of an almost lost mythology.
For now, the piece will remain a mystery. It will only be possible to hear it in full when the game is released, when players step into the world of Luni for the first time.
